Balance Work and Breastfeeding

What Helped Me Balance Work and Breastfeeding
Submitted by Sarah
(Texas, USA)

Working and Breastfeeding

What helped me the most to balance working while breastfeeding was to rent an electric hospital grade breast pump and pump while I was on my lunch break, I also pumped on my two 15-minute breaks at work.

I wanted to keep nursing my son because as everyone already knows it is the best way, and thankfully I had an understanding supervisor.

The biggest challenge that I faced while breastfeeding was keeping up my milk supply, and to do that I had to pump a lot. I used a Medela Symphony breast pump, which is awesome. I believe if I did not have such a good pump to use, that I might not have breastfed as long as I did. I breast fed my son for a full 12 months and don't regret a minute.
