Visitor Breastfeeding Story: June 13th 2010 marked a year of nursing for Gabriella and I. Looking back I would of never thought to have got this far.
My goal was 3-6 months if that. Its been a wonderful experience for us both and our family. Together we have been role models for other friends and family. I travel a lot because I own my own design business making shirts, stickers etc we do a lot of trade shows and Gabriella has been going with me everywhere since she was 3 months old.
Along the way we have got many comments from others about me nursing her in public at the shows. I myself have always tried to be discrete about it.
So many people have complimented me and my choice to breastfeed her. Every experience has been positive, I never hear about the positive compliments you always read about the negative ones. Its absurd how complete strangers think they have the right to tell breast feeding moms to go elsewhere.
I decided to start making shirts for her and I to wear that support breast feeding! Breastfeeding should not be a hidden secret that goes on behind closed doors. I think more moms should be proud of the fact they breast feed. Another thing for me Breast feeding helped encourage me to eat healthier and take better care of myself. Breastfeeding is an option we all have, and everyone has their own reason why but why NOT? So if you have not decided yet on breast feeding my only question to you is why not?
