Your Online Breastfeeding Skincare Tips

Pregnancy and breastfeeding can do a real number on your skin! In fact, breastfeeding skincare can be frustrating for many new moms!

My Story

Pregnancy and breastfeeding brought out a skin condition for me that I didn’t even know I had—psoriasis. The toll that the changing hormones and stress had on my body caused the very first occurrence of something that I never even knew that I had.

Even if breastfeeding does not result in a serious skin care issue, many mothers find that their skin is more sensitive, drier or more acne prone after pregnancy and during their breastfeeding periods. Some, like me, have even more serious issues.

So What Do You Do?

If your skin concerns are with getting dry and cracked skin on your nipples, the best way to cure this is to avoid long periods of moisture. Pat the area dry immediately after breastfeeding. If you leak like I did and must wear breast pads, be sure to change them often to keep moisture away from your breasts. That moisture can cause the skin to become irritated and painful.

For the rest of your skin care issues, there is some good news. Although this process can cause some havoc on a your skin, with the improvements in skincare options, there are products that can keep your skin looking great without causing harm to your breastfeeding baby.

Natural Products that Work

Many companies are now creating skin care products that are safe for breastfeeding mothers to use. Some of the popular ingredients in these products that can be used safely during the pregnancy and breastfeeding include those found in natural skincare: chamomile, cocoa butter and mango, coconut oil, and grape seed oil. Just make sure your read all product directions and warnings to be sure that it is safe for breastfeeding moms. If you are unsure, pick something else.

Remove Those Stretchmarks

Surviving childbirth and breastfeeding is one thing, but loving stretch marks is asking a little too much!

Fortunately there is a great product that can not only help prevent them from happening, but also can make even the older stretch marks history!

How can you do it? A product called Trilastin can make them disappear and the company that makes it guarantees its results. If you are interested, click here to learn more. It is an awesome and amazing product!
