My Baby is Getting Teeth

by Liz

Visitor Question:

Do I have to stop breastfeeding now that my baby is getting teeth? What if she bites me?

Breastfeeding Magazine Response:

Of course not! Breastfeeding mothers all over the world successfully breastfeed babies and toddlers with LOTS of teeth.

If she does bite you...just gently say "no biting." If she does it again...just be a little more firm.

Most babies don't bite more than a couple of times and once you let them know that it is not ok...it usually stops.

Good luck!
