My Left breast is Smaller than my Right Breast after Weaning

After Weaning

After Weaning

Visitor Question: I stopped breastfeeding for the past 2 weeks and my left breast is smaller than my right one. It looks terrible.

I can't even wear a bathing suit, since its so noticeable. Will they eventually even out or am I going to need to get surgery? Please help.

Is anyone else going through this problem???

Breastfeeding Magazine Response: There are many reasons that this might happen.

Most likely, however, your breasts will even out in the next week or so. Usually it is because one of your breasts has dried up while the other one is still producing some breast milk.

Most women notice that they even out within a few weeks.

Good luck!

Any other visitors have this problem and want to share their experience?

Noticable difference
by: Christina

I have had this problem since my son was about 2 months old. When I say it is noticalbe.. I do mean it. there is a 4 cup size difference in my left and right breast. I would be pushing it to say I wore an A cup on the right and a DD on the left. I wear a bathing suit anyway. You have to be super confident in your self. I get stared at a lot.. I guess people think I have gone through breast cancer.. I don't care.

I hope it evens out when I wean (he just turned 1 year). But eh.. if it doesn't I still don't care.
