My Working and Breastfeeding Tip is a Truckers Delight

by Jennifer
(North Carolina)

Visitor Working and Breastfeeding Tips: I always knew that I was going to breastfeed my daughter, but as time goes on I become more and more proud of my decision, and less shy about nursing in public.

Part of the decrease in my modesty comes from my daily breast pumping routine: I work an hour away from my house, and I work 9-10 hour days, so I am away from my daughter for 11-12 hours a day.

I am determined that she will not get an ounce of formula, but it became difficult to pump enough while at work. Solution: road pumping!

I bought a car adaptor, and I pump to and from work in the car. I set everything up before I leave, so I only have to whip out a boob and put the shield on while driving.

It's less distracting than talking on the phone, and I am doing something productive with my time. I know I've gotten some double takes from other drivers, but I don't care.

As mothers we have to do what's best for our babies, and I find happiness in knowing that my daughter is getting the very best.

Great Advice!

I also pumped while driving - it is a great use of time and much more private that it seems.
