"My Experience as a Nursing Mother"
Submitted by Justine (Arizona, USA)I am a nursing mother. My baby is almost one year old and I have loved breastfeeding her. It not only saved us tons of money not buying formula, bottles, and baby water, but it was rewarding in so many ways. At first is was difficult and I was advised to use a nipple shield which gave my baby a better grip of the breast. Once she got the hang of it, it was wonderful. It was always there, I never had to worry about carrying around things for a formula fed baby.
While shopping I would find a nursing room or a dressing room and feed her. The worst is when your only option is in the bathroom or in the open, but hey it's worth it! I love the bonding time and this is something that is a mommy only activity so it's nice to have. I am getting ready to wean her and feel sad to lose this but know it's for the best!
