Weaning Off a Clingy Baby

by Trudy
(Trinidad and Tobago)

Weaning

Weaning

Visitor Question; How do I wean a very clingy baby off the breast especially at night time if she is waking up every two hours to get breastfeed mainly for comfort and not because she is hungry?

Breastfeeding Magazine Response: Weaning is usually best done gradually, but exactly how to wean depends on the age of your child, the weight of your child and your particular parenting style.

See our How to Stop Breastfeeding page for some age-by-age guidance.

Good luck!
